Cases, keyboards and mice are highly customized items for HTPCs. The systems are priced with them for easier comparisons, but feel free to work with us to adjust as needed. We can provide cases that look nearly identical to other home stereo components like receivers. We can also provide typical PC cases, modified with windows, custom fan grills, etched appliques, and colors to match the rest of your home entertainment system. All systems come with a professional wiring job and all related paperwork, manuals and warranty information. If requested we also offer in home setup and instructions (see our local resellers section). We offer an E-Manual via our message boards, so look there for instructions on how to use the HTPC and its general functions.

Services

For the computer tech savy who are looking to defeat the learning curve of setting up and configuring a Home Theater PC, we offer a build and configuration service. Basically we will build the system and configure it as we would any of our others; however, the system does not come with warranty or support. The cost for this service is 12% of the total system cost. Two options exist, we can purchase the parts for you and then add the 12% fee or you can send the parts to us, we will estimate the cost of the parts and then calculate the 12% service fee. All documentation is included with the hardware to allow you to persue manufacturer warranties if needed. We will follow through with the system and ensure you get it setup and running within the first 30 days.

Usage

The Scylla is designed to be an advanced HTPC server and the hub of all media in the home. The system will store, manage and playback your desired media. It will also act as a server making your media available to any of our extenders. The most common use of this system is in the main home theater room connected to a high end projector and surround sound system. Other common uses include HDTV's and Plasmas in family rooms. To show off the systems full potential we recommend displays with native 1280x720 resolutions and DVI input.

The Scylla will produce unsurpassed image quality for all your favorite media and excels at DVD playback. Custom resolutions allow the HTPC to match the displays native resolution. The unique audio features found in the Dolby Live technology will encode all non-Dolby compatible signals into an AC3 bit stream for output over S/PDIF. This is especially beneficial with games as they are in EAX surround sound format, and without this functionality you would only get 2 channel stereo over S/PDIF. The system also has 7.1 Analog output capabilities, Line and Mic in. Retasking functions allow you to change the outputs from within the system instead of changing around cables.
